  ACE Investigations Offers Investigative Services at Affortable Rates. ACE Investigations has moved to the Orlando, Florida area.


ACE Investigations and Professional Consulting Agency was founded by R.J. McCurry and J.D. McCurry. It is comprised of professional investigators who have years of experience in law enforcement, security, loss prevention, surveillance, evidence collection and documentation, and courtroom testimony.

On November 1, 2000, he retired and moved to Charleston, SC, where he obtained his Private Investigation License from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in July, 2001.

Who We Are:  R.J. McCurry

R.J. McCurry
began his career with the North Carolina Department of Corrections in Asheboro, NC, in the 1970's.

In March of 1982, he entered into law enforcement with the Asheboro Police Department. After three years as a Patrol Officer, he made the grade of Detective with that Department before leaving that department in 1985.

In December of 1985, he transferred to the Guilford County Sheriff's Department in Greensboro, NC. After three years as a Patrol Officer with that Department, he was tranferred to the Narcotics Detective Division where he made the rank of Corporal.

In 1992, he was placed in charge of reviewing all the search warrants before conducting raids because of his expertise in that area. He also designed many of the paragraphs and their language used today in search warrants by many local, state, and federal agencies. He has conducted more than 5000 searches.

In 1992, he was also placed in charge of numerous Undercover Operations. In the seven and a half years spent in the Narcotics Division, he has conducted more than 2000 Undercover Operations.

In 1992, he and a team comprised of Federal and Local Officers completed one of the largest Historical Conspiracy Cases ever worked in the Middle District of the United States. It resulted in seizures totaling over $1,500,000.00.

In 1995, he was part of a team that conducted one of the longest land vehicle surveillance on record. The surveillance was conducted over 700 miles of highway and through three states.

In 1996, he seized a total of 32 vehicles during the year which were used by criminals arrested to transport drugs.

In 1996, he was promoted to Sergeant and supervised a squad on patrol that initiated more felony arrests than any other division in the Sheriff's Department.

In 1999, he was transferred to the Canine/Crime Repression Team as Supervisor where he was in charge of Highway Interdiction, Motel Interdiction, Airport Interdiction, Surveillance Operations, Dangerous Fugitive Apprehension, and Checkpoints for Driving While Impaired and Narcotic Violations.

From November 22, 2004 to March 26, 2010, he was the Assistant Manager and in October, 2006, became the Director of Security and Security Site Manager for SOS Security at the North Charleston, SC Verizon Wireless Call Center.

March, 2010, he moved to the Orlando, Florida area to set up private investigations and security in that area. The Name of the business has been changed to ACE Investigations and Professional Consulting Agency.

He has received many awards and honors for his work. Some are:

1990: Awarded Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate.

1993: Awarded the Commendation Bar from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Department.

1993: Awarded the Appreciation Award from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department in Virginia.

1994: Awarded the Appreciation Award from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department in Asheboro, NC.

1995: Awarded the Special Award of Honor from the International Narcotic Enforcement Officer’s Association, West Palm Beach, FL.

1996: Awarded the Service Award from the Special Operations Division of the Guilford County Sheriff‘s Department.

1999: Awarded the Meritorious Commendation Bar from the Guilford County Sheriff‘s Department.

2000: Awarded Achievement Plaque for Dedication to Guilford County and its citizens.

From 1995 until his retirement in 2000, R.J. McCurry held the position of a Certified Instructor of Law Enforcement from the North Carolina Justice Academy and taught Basic Law Enforcement Training and Advanced Law Enforcement Training at the Guilford Technical Community College. While in this position, he specialized in the teaching of such areas as: Arrest, Search, and Seizure; Fundamentals of Writing and Executing a Search Warrant; Methods of Consent Search; Interview and Interrogation Techniques; Constitutional Law; Elements of Criminal Law; Drug Identification and Enforcement; Drug Abatement Procedures; Surveillance Techniques; Highway Interdiction of Drugs; Airport Interdiction of Drugs; Motel/Hotel Interdiction of Drugs; Raid Planning and Techniques; Use of Force; and Use of Deadly Force. R.J. McCurry has also conducted seminars in various areas of Drug Enforcement, Use of Force, and Use of Deadly Force.

Who We Are: J.D. McCurry

J.D. McCurry began her career in Security in 1990. She has worked for Pinkerton Security & Investigations, Wells Fargo Investigations, and Globe Security Services.  She has received numerous commendations while working in this capacity and was named Security Office of the Year in 1991.

J.D. McCurry has worked in the area of Loss Prevention for the Waccamaw Company, Walmart, and Kohl’s Department Store. She has been involved in working in Loss Prevention for over 13 years. She has training and experience in both external and internal loss investigations, interview and interrogation, and inventory discrepancy management and resolution.  Through these experiences she has resolved numerous internal and external theft investigations resulting in the retreival more than $100,000.00  for these various companies.

J.D. McCurry went to work for the Greensboro Police Department in 1997 and worked as a Telecommunicator II for that Department handling dispatch of emergency calls for Police and Fire Departments, Emergency Operations Center, and monitoring of TAC and NAWAS. She has received numerous commendations while working in that capacity.

At the same time, she worked as an Assistant to Instructors at Guildford Technical College.  She assisted in instruction of approximately 400 Basic Law Enforcement students in a 5 year period.  She also assisted with in-service classes such as Field Sobriety Test Certification, Undercover Narcotics, Surveillance Techniques, and Police K-9 training.
